Patrick Kon
I am a 5th year Computer Science Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), working with Prof. Ang Chen. My current research focuses on advancing AGI, with a particular interest in how AI systems can drive scientific discovery at scale (early work: EXP-Bench, Curie) and agentic code generation (e.g., post-training LMs at Meta, and IaC-Eval). I am also broadly interested in security, systems, and networking, where I’ve worked extensively on covert communications (e.g., SpotProxy) and cloud infrastructure management.I enjoy working alongside and mentoring undergrad/grad (non Ph.D.) students as well. Most of my ongoing and past projects have involved significant contribution from undergrad/grad students within and outside the US. Do reach out if you’d like to work with me!
